There ain’t no crystal ball
I think I’m hitting that point in my life where decisions you have to make are based on NEEDING a crystal ball! At least to avoid any stressful situations.
For example, we just sold our house – in TWENTY DAYS! The average days on market in Baltimore is currently about 110 days. Now we’ve known for two weeks that we were moving forward with the sale, but now we just passed the one month mark and it’s starting to sink in.
Now, it would be freakin’ great right about now to have a crystal ball on hand! Originally, we were thinking of moving a little further south so that my work commute would not be so bad. But in thinking it over, I don’t really want to move away from Baltimore and our friends and family.
So, I really wish I just had a crystal ball to clear up a few things – if I did I would ask:

- Can you show me if I’m going to be stuck living in a hotel in one month (although someone else making the bed everyday doesn’t seem so bad!)?
- What area should we look to live in?
- Will I be staying at my current job for a long time?
- Will I always be working in DC?
- Some of the houses we are looking at aren’t in great school systems – can you tell me if a) the schools will be getting better in the next 5-6 years or b) if we will be making enough $ to send kids to private school?
- Can you show me what Jon and I will look like in 20 years (juuuust kiddding – it doesn’t hurt to ask
)
Now, if only a crystal ball would fall in to my lap!

Awww so much to decide. It will all fall in place. Depending on where you move in Columbia, there are some good schools! That would be a shorter commute for you as well.
I don’t even think we are going to go down there anymore!
