Fourth of July Fun Facts

2008 July 3

I’m too exhausted to get into the details I wanted to … so instead I thought I’d bring a little fun to the holiday coming up this weekend!  So here we go -

Every 4th of July the Liberty Bell is tapped – not actually run.

The 4th of July was first celebrated on July 8, 1776 after the signing of the Declaration of Indepence on July 4, 1776.

Independence Day was not declard a legal holiday until 1941.

The only President born on July 4th is Calvin Coolidge.  However, three presidents have died on July 4: John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Monroe.

The National Retail Federation says about 61 percent of people plan to attend a cookout or picnic on the Fourth.

Tonight I get to go to Marideth & Trenton’s for dinner and then a boat ride with Marideth, Trenton, Jenny, Doug, Miss Kate (she turns 1 next month!) and Jon to enjoy a nice night, since it may storm this weekend.  I am in desperate need of my “Baltimore Family” so I am having a hard time concentrating at work…I just wanna squish em!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!

Your fun facts are so funny because J actually brought up yesterday the fact about the first 4th being celebrated on the 8th. When I looked at him like, “where the hell did you learn that, dork?” he said, “I don’t remember where I saw that…”
